Before you engage a cleaner or cleaning company, you need to ensure that they are reliable and can meet your cleaning requirements. This will really save you a lot of headache during the clean and future cleaning sessions for the long term too.

Is everything necessary bonded and insured?


Since work is done on your property, you are liable for any damages that are done on site, any injuries that happen to the worker or any event of theft on your property. 

To ensure that you have a piece of mind, the cleaning company should purchase the necessary insurance for any damage, theft and injuries on your property. 

When you look at the coverage, check through what is being covered carefully. Ensure that you are sufficiently covered by checking the coverage amount and items that can be covered.

Are you registered?


Do not assume that all cleaning companies have been registered. Check against ACRA to ensure that you are dealing with a properly registered company with the correct license

Having a cleaning license with NEA shows a few things:

  • ·     They have a track record of cleaning 
  • ·     They are registered with ACRA with a valid 

How do you charge and why?


Get upfront regarding the charges. Definitely, not all companies charge the same amount. Speak to a few companies and get them to justify their prices. 

Some may provide better cleaning services, some may provide better customer service and some may be able to accommodate to emergency cleaning sessions. 

When you ask them this question, they should also arrange a site visit before confirming the prices with you. Every house is different. And depending on the size and the clutter, the company may require different amount of hour to clean your house, and thus charge different price too.

If you are found or caught engaging cleaning businesses that are not licensed, you can be fine up to $10000 and up to $1000 every single day for continued offences.
